Are you tired of turning on the radio and hearing the same dumb pop song about an angry break up or hooking up with someone? Oh! Or getting drunk and partying all night? Because who really lives that way EVERYDAY? Well, your girl Riah is here to share my 3 favorite artists. These artists are all amazing and have actual messages behind their songs. *victory dance to next paragraph*
Thomston, aka Thomas Stoneman is probably my favorite of the three. He’s a hottie, but that’s not even the best part! He is very poetic and artistic. My favorite is how much sass and shade he throws in his songs. His style is alternative electronic, which is literally my two favorite genres. From the moment I heard his first EP I was in LOVE. His music is on iTunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud. Go check him out! Below is his newest song,”Float”:
Up next we have the one and only Sia. Sia is my Queen, my inspiration, and basically my everything. Her music is inspiring, unique, and catchy! (I have to listen to one of her albums every day) She is popular, but she doesn’t let the music industry change her in any way.
She is making music purely because she loves to write and sing. She even puts on a wig to cover her face so people don’t judge her music based off of her appearance. GENIUS! Here’s her newest song, “The Greatest”:
Lastly, there is Sam Smith. I have been listening to him the longest out of the three artists. I guess you could say I’m a very dedicated fan. If you make fun of Sam Smith around me, you will meet my fist. Kidding! But honestly I don’t think he is human when he sings, rather an angel in the heavens calling to everyone below with melodic harps playing in the background. <3
When I am in a chill mood I turn on his album and draw or even clean. He’s taking a break from music, which split my heart into two, but I understand he needs a break to live his life! “Not in that Way” is my favorite song from his album. This song will bless your ears:
Hope you found some new love for these artists! Discovering all of these talented people made me realize there are hidden gems in the music industry. It just takes some searching because a lot of times they aren’t the most popular ones.
